| PhD Position (Materials) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
A PhD student position is available in my lab in the research of metal or
ceramic materials, starting from the fall semester of 2015 (August 2015).
The research will develop advanced alloys and
ceramic materials used in extreme environments such as high
temperature, irradiation, corrosive gas and liquid, stress, and combination
 of them.
These materials will have a broad range of applications such as in
airplanes, nuclear power stations and refractory industries.

The candidates with a Master degree and have published papers are preferred.

You are expected to have Master and Bachelor degrees in Materials Science
 and
 Engineering, Metallurgy, or related engineering
discipline. The research experience in materials processing (such as
 milling,
heating, sintering, SPS), microstructural characterization techniques (such
as XRD, SEM, TEM, FIB, TGA, AFM), and mechanical testing (such as strength,
toughness, hardness, nanoindentation) are highly preferred. If you have any
of these experiences, please indicate clearly in your cover letter and CV.
Candidates need to satisfy the Graduate Admission Requirements in English.

The successful candidate will join a thriving research group at the
department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at University of
Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). The webpage of Dr. Cui is:

UNL is the flagship university of the State of Nebraska and is an active
member of “Big Ten Conference”. Lincoln is a city ranked as one of the

 average.

Candidates should email your CV to: bcui3@unl.edu with the subject line: PhD
 application (2015 Fall).
Meanwhile, please submit your formal online application through the
 Ph.D.progam in Materials Engineering.
