美国常青藤名校Dartmouth全额奖学金机会(solid mechanics/biomechanics),欢迎15年飞跃还没有满意Offer或者16年飞跃的同学直接与Prof. Zi Chen联系(Zi.Chen@Dartmouth.edu),ME/Physics/MSE/BME背景同学都欢迎申请,有固体力学背景更佳。
Dr. Zi Chen will start a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Thayer
School of Engineering at Dartmouth from Jul. 2015. His lab is currently looki
ng for prospective PhD students for 2015 fall or 2016. (it is still possible
to expedite the admission process for Sep. 2015 enrollment).Visiting position
s are also available for highly qualified candidates.
Dr. Chen received his PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeto
n University. His research interests range from solid mechanics and material
science to biomechanics and mechanobiology, covering such diverse topics as m
echanical instabilities of materials, energy harvesting, stretchable electron
ics, biomimetic materials/devices, nanofabrication (e.g., nanowires, nanoribb
ons, grapheme sheets, and DNA nanotechnology), mechanics of morphogenesis in
biological systems, cell biomechanics (e.g., epithelial-to-mesenchymal transi
tion and cancer cell migration), and mechanics of DNA structures.
The candidate should have degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Engin
eering Mechanics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science or any re
lated field, with outstanding academic records (in general, the requirement for Dartmouth admission is GPA>=3.5, where exceptions can be made when the candidates have good publications). Full financial support will be provided with competitive stipends and benefits. Prof. Chen strives to provide a stimulating environment with exciting and frontier research topics and
