When we get home after a day works,we always choose to turn on the TV and watch the TV program.I think the purpose of television is to entertain ,not to educate.
First of all,television gives us joy.When we use television to watch some  funny movies and entertainment TV programme ,television makes us laught.I like to watch TV with my family in the weekends.Because we could get together and talk about the news which appered in the TV screen.This feeling makes me relax.In china,many family have a tradition for watch CCTV's Spring Festival Gala Evening through television in New year's Eve.We talk about the excellent programs and have dinner with all the family members.
Secondly,after a day’s hard work,we need to use television to release ourselves.It is difficult for us to work all the days.We may have some paper work in the morning or have classes to listen,it is terrible for us to use television to learning in the evening. Not only our body but also our brain have to relax.Television is such a wonderful chose for the tired people.According to the BBC poll,60%of people will watch television to enioy themselves after work.
Although a few people have an opnion that television is disigned for education.But it is so hard for us to concentrate on it for a long time.As we all kown,if we want to learning,we need to focus on it.The advertisement in the educational program may divert our’s attention.
In the end,I have to said that I totally diagree with the statement that the purpose of television is for education,not to entertain.
