3 Lecturer/Senior Lectureships in Chemistry
Lecturer salary in the range: £45,950 – £51,200 p.a.
Senior Lecturer minimum starting salary: £56,450 p.a.
The Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London is at an exciting time in its history. Already a world-leading Department, from late 2017 we will occupy state-of-the art new research facilities on the College’s new White City Campus. The new building will allow significant expansion of our research activities, bringing together work in Molecular Sciences across the College and with external partners to tackle global grand challenges.
At the first phase of our expansion, applications are invited for three Lecturer/Senior Lecturer posts in Chemistry, commencing on 1 October 2015. Applications are welcomed from outstanding applicants in any area of Chemistry.
Candidates will have a PhD (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a closely related discipline, together with an excellent record of research achievement. The successful applicants will have proven ability to plan, lead and direct a personal research programme and will also be able to demonstrate a portfolio of research published in highly rated international journals. Successful applicants should also demonstrate strong leadership potential.  Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, preferably in organic or inorganic chemistry, and excellent verbal and written communication skills, are also essential.
For appointment at Senior Lecturer level, in addition to the above, candidates must have an exceptionally strong research record and proven ability to successfully secure external research funding. They will have substantial experience in undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training, including successful PhD student supervision.
