The Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering (SIE) at the University of Arizona (UA) is looking for highly motivated Ph.D. students interested in Operations Research.
The accepted Ph.D. students can work with Dr. Ruiwei Jiang on theory and algorithm developments of stochastic optimization (随机优化) and its applications in power systems (能源系统). Necessary qualifications include (1) strong interests and background in OR/IE/Math/CS, and (2) computer programming expertise in C/C++ and ILOG CPLEX. Candidates with relevant research experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.
Dr. Ruiwei Jiang received his Ph.D. degree from the Dept. ISE at the University of Florida and earned his B.S. degree from the Dept. IE at the Tsinghua University. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Dept. SIE at UA. His research has won several awards including the Stochastic Programming Society Best Student
Paper Prize and the First Place in the 2013 INFORMS George Nicholson Student Paper Competition. Interested candidates may submit their applications to the graduate program, and then contact with Dr. Ruiwei Jiang.
