There are multiple fully funded Ph.D. positions available starting in Fall 2014 semester at Prof. Mi Zhang’s research group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU). Students with majors in Electrical Engineering (电子工程/微电子), Computer Science (计算机科学), Automation (自动化) and Information Science (智能/信息科学) are highly welcome to apply.
[About the Ph.D. Positions]:
The successful applicants will have the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in developing intelligent embedded sensing and ubiquitous computing technologies for a variety of applications including health care, smart homes, and etc.. Applicants with backgrounds in embedded system design, smartphone application development, machine learning, pattern recognition, speech recognition, and computer vision are highly welcome to apply. The selected applicants will also have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from other world-class universities including MIT, Cornell University, Georgia Tech, USC, and University of Michigan. [About Prof. Mi Zhang]:
Prof. Mi Zhang received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern California (USC) and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Peking University (PKU). He is currently a Postdoctoral Associate (Visiting Faculty) at Cornell University. He will join the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University (MSU) as Assistant Professor in Fall 2014. He can be reached at mizhang@cornell.edu.
