Ph.D. student positions at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of New York University.
We are seeking highly motivated Ph.D. students in the area of biomedical engineering for translational medicine, starting in Fall 2016. The potential graduate students will work on research projects related to biomedical devices and biomaterials for disease diagnosis and treatment and may require close collaboration with medical school and NYU Abu Dhabi. Research directions include exploring new engineering solutions for emerging problems in cancer biology, systems immunology, and stem cell-based regenerative medicine.
We are looking for graduate students from a wide array of backgrounds (mechanical engineering, physics, material science or related majors) with demonstrated ingenuity, productivity, and ability to work in a diverse, high energy environment. Candidates with master degrees and backgrounds in microfabrication, microfluidics, biomaterials, and tissue engineering are prefered (but not required).
Interested applicants should apply through the NYU online application system (http://engineering.nyu.edu/admissions/graduate/apply) and send their curriculum vitae, transcripts, and any published paper or manuscript in preparation (preferred electronic format: pdf) through email to Prof. Weiqiang Chen (wchen@nyu.edu).
