PhD position at City University of Hong Kong (Urgent)

A PhD student position is available in the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. The interested student should contact Dr. Niu at xinrui.niu@cityu.edu.hk by April 10, 2015 for the consideration.

Requirements:
o B.S. or M.S. in Engineering Mechanics, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry and other related engineering and scientific fields.
o An overall GPA not less than 82.5/100 (不包括政治和体育类课程)
o Fulfill the language requirement: a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based) is required; or an overall band score of 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or College English Test Band 6 score no less than 490.

Additional information:
o Monthly Stipend: 14800 HKD;
o The candidate is expected to work on research topics such as: bio-mimetic design, 3D-printing of novel structures, nanocomposites, nano-materials and nano-mechanics;
o The City University of Hong Kong is rising rapidly in the recent decade, especially in the engineering regime. We ranked 13th in Engineering world-widely according to US News' Best Global Universities for Engineering (2014).
