PhD PositionApplications are invited for a PhD position in statistics/applied probability at the Section of Mathematics of theEcole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Research topics fall within the scope an ERC Starting Grant on "Complex Data with Applications to Biophysics". Indicatively, these may include functional data analysis, inference for stochastic processes and statistical inverse problems with applications to biophysical modeling and biological imaging.
The position will be in the Chair of Mathematical Statistics (Prof. Victor Panaretos).
Candidates for this PhD position should preferably hold a degree in mathematics and/or statistics, or in engineering with a solid mathematical background. Knowledge of French is not a requirement, but will be helpful.
