In this lecture the professor was talking about the reason why the number of sea otter decline greatly.It is because they are attacked by their predators.

To begin with,no dead sea otters are found by scientists.Because they were eaten by predators immediately. If they died because of the oil rigs and other kinds of industrial chemical pollution.The dead sea otters could be found by people.So the pollution couldn't’t be blame for sea otter’s death.

Furthermore,the sea mammals decline was caused by a kind of huge whale's hunting.This huge whales preyed small whale in the past.But now,more and more people prey small whale.In order to survive,the huge whale changed to eat small mammals like sea otter.So actually it is nothing about the pollution.

Moreover,in some where the number of sea otter isn't decline.In the place where orca couldn't access like shallow or rocky location,the population of sea otter is not decrease.Because the orca a so big to get to this place.But the passage say that the concentration of pollutant along the coast is the reason why different place appear different condition.So the predation theory is more reliable.

All in all ,at the professor's view it is because the sea otter greatly attacked by predators.So the numbers of them decrease heavily.
