It is called “eagle”. It earned its name from its shape, like a lonely eagle, with a kind of quiet power overlooking the ground. It’s attractive to me because it’s so mysterious, as if it’s holding a secret. When we got to the top of the mountain, we shouted “we are king of the world!”. You know the feeling of excitement when you have finally attained your destination—the feeling that you have conquered the mountain. And above all, you have conquered yourself. Later we sat on the top of the mountain quietly, hand in hand, and dwarfed by the stunning beauty of setting sun. I started to grow up here. It was like a second home, and it often remind me of the sweetest memories of my childhood.

10)Describe an interesting book
11)喜欢的运动 (登山) I cannot imagine how my life would be without piano. It’s a good way to relax. After a day of tedious work, I would turn to piano to sooth my mind. From very moment my fingers are on the keyboard, I found myself drowned in a completely different world. It’s a world of music, a world of fun, a world of Chopin and Beethoven. More importantly, it makes me an artistic person. With the cultivation of piano, I see the same world, but with different eyes. I’m able to find the beauty of nature, like an unknown flower by the road.
1) An important skill for you (弹钢琴 希望成为钢琴家)
He’s a pretty prestigious doctor in our city, but he never makes a big show of it. He has this permanent smile on his face. He’s very generous and always lend money to patients, without even expecting them to pay it back. He taught me that you could be very disciplined and hard working but still be very kind. He taught me that you don’t do kindness just to gain favor, but because that’s what your true nature expects you to do. Unlike other parents, his concern is not so much with my grades but my effort.

5) The characteristics of a good parent (模范作用 谦虚 慷慨 更看重子女的努力而非成绩) Gary (my dog) is an incredible friend, very affectionate and caring. Whenever I come home he’s always there to appreciate my company. He understands me; he can read me very well. Once I was dumped by my boyfriend and felt very frustrated. Tears was puddling in my eyes. Gary came to me, licked my tears up and saying it’s okay. He didn’t speak of course, but by staring into his eyes, I could communicate with him deep into heart, deeper than even my best friend in the real world. When I held him in my arms, I learned that even though the whole world had dumped me, Gary would not.

4) 喜欢的动物 (当然是狗啦) Iwould never forget the time when I won the first prize in National Mathematical Contest. Our school held a special ceremony for my victory. It was like I was a film star winning the Oscar and standing in the spotlight. I delivered speech, saying that I’m the lucky dog whose years of effort had finally paid off, but above all, I owe a lot to the cultivation of my parents, my teachers, and my school. When I said that, I really meant it. My parents were sitting in the front row. Under the dazzling light, I was surprised to find that they cried. But I smiled. I had been struggling to make them proud, and I did.

3) An enjoyable event in your childhood
① People are encouraged to take subway because of its resonable price, its better enviroment, and its punctuality.
② People are encouraged to take subway because it has a more resonable price, its enviroment is better, and because it is more punctual.
Do you agree or disagree,in twenty years there will be fewer cars in use than there in today? Personally I commit to the notion that although car function as a symbol of wealth in contemporary society, car ownership is destined to decrease, because of the deteriorating traffic situation and the possible alternatives of cars. First and foremost, the headache of traffic jam is the primary reason for the potential decrease in ownership of cars. In the past decade, the city, whether in developing or developed countries, had witnessed a booming economy, a flourishing civilization, and unfortunately, a ballooning traffic jam. Almost all city dwellers are bothered more or less by traffic jams, which kept them away from being a punctual worker, a punctual date, or a punctual friend. Consider how many people are scolded by their bosses, dumped by their dates, or criticized by their friends, simply because of being late. And why were we late? None of us intended to be a late bird, not to mention plotting it. More often then not, it is the traffic to blame. And what will happen if the victims of traffic jams are hurt again and again? They stop driving cars, or advising their sons to take buses or railways instead of cars. Indeed, this tendency agrees with a principle of economics: when there is excessive supply—that is, more cars than the road can take-there will be a decrease in this supply. Therefore, the result of traffic jam is a gradual decrease in car ownership. Another reason for the decrease in cars, as far as I am concerned, is the improvement in its alternatives. In order to solve the traffic problem, government had implemented a gamut of proposals in the improving conditions of buses, subways, and railways. Take the subway for example. People are encouraged to take subway because of its reasonable price, its better environment, and, more importantly, its punctuality. As more and more people are choosing subways over cars, it is evident that in 20 years, there will be fewer cars on the street. Admittedly, the ever-increasing desire for wealth and fortune will never fade. Since cars, like BMW and VOLVO, unfortunately had become the symbol of social status in modern society. Nevertheless, this case is not universal enough to obscure the tendency of a decreasing in cars. Government interference is not guarantee of a better situation in traffic, but the pay-off would be worth the effort. Overall, with all the dimensions mentioned above incorporated, I strongly vote for the idea that car ownership will decrease in the world.
政府是否应把钱花在宇航技术上 “To spend, or not to spend: that is the question.” When it comes to government expenditure on space project, the debate between both the community and the common world has come to a vogue. Should government spend a considerable amount of money on exploration of the universe, as asserted by scientists, scholars, and government officials; or should these money go to more pressing issues of the day, as the poor and the miserable maintains? As for me I commit to the notion that space technology, though impractical at first glance, is of vital importance to humankind, and is therefore worthy of our taxes. The major reason for my propensity for space technology is the potential of scientific research. No matter how the impact it occurred, from the moment of its very advent, scientific research had become the very dictator of our future. It is by these researches that human beings, the only creature with intelligence on earth, began to soar their wings of aspiration. And more importantly, it had indeed done a great good for the humankind. Can you imagine getting access to the world wide web at your desk after rising in the morning were it not for the research of millions of computer ancestors? Similarly, it is highly probable that the great-grandchildren of your great-grandchildren would be enjoying a trip across the “worm hole” while giving thanks secretly to his forefather, you, who voted for the expenditure on scientific research. In a word, the space project enjoys great potential, and should therefore be taken into account in top priority to ensure a better future of mankind. Another reason why I advocate for space technology is that it does good to dwellers on earth not only in the future, but also today,– at this very hour, at this very minute, at this very second. Without satellites, an Australian could never be able to, say, take a day off, be a couch potato, watch a football game on the opposite side of the planet. Without satellites, never will a Chinese professor travel by air to an academic meeting in America, and still step out of the plane without a trembling hand. Promising as space project is, it would probably not be too sagacious as to completely discard the present issues. Basic problems such as poverty and misery should also be stressed, given their direct affect on our living standard today. Nevertheless, this case is not universal enough to obscure the significance of space project, and to sacrifice the well-being of our descendents. We are human; we have a brain. We are different from animals! Overall, with all of the dimensions mentioned above incorporated, scientific research such as space project should be put to the top priority. It is true that research is not a guarantee of the happy recollections of every child of God on this planet, but the pay-off will be worth the effort.
