Professor in the lecture disputes that three reasons for the appearance of little ice age are out-dated and unconvincing.Regarding to the professor’s statements,the Gulf streams, the eruption of volcanic and the decrease of population which are put forward by the writer as the causes of little ice age are all unreliable for the following reasons.

First, as for the gulf streams,professor proposes that streams are only cooled in Europe and North America while the gulf streams are little affected in South America and New Zealand where also the little ice age took place,which contradicts the proposition that the cooling of gulf stream change the earth climate and give rise to the little ice age. Consequently,the gulf stream is unbelievable.
Second, the lecture confutes view that the eruption of volcanic produced gas and dust which decrease the temperature and thus caused the little ice age by pointing out the lack of visual evidence of that time.The professor discusses that if the eruptions were really severe enough to cause the little ice age, there should be the visual evidence like dramatically colorful sunset ot the change of snow color from white to gray and brown.

Last but not least,professor also casts doubts on the the explanation of the decrease of the people’s population because the length of that period is too short to make temperature decreased.Shortly after the decrease of population,it soon rebounded.As a result,there was no enough time to let trees grew back and neither to let temperature descent.Thus,the reduce of population cannot be considered as the reason.

Generally speaking,the arguments from the professor reflected that points of passage are old and untenable,which fail to functions as the explanation for the occurrence of the little ice age.
